Nestoria™ is trying to shut down our blog

We’ve just received a 14 page “cease and desist” letter from lawyers claiming to represent Nestoria™, the popular London based property search engine. The letter, while claiming "respect" for "the right for our blog to exist" goes on to "respectfully ask that we refrain from using the word Nestoria™"; which they claim that - by using the word Nestoria™ as a verb - we have used it in a manner that "infringes on the intended trade mark and violates the intellectual property rights of the company".
When contacted by representatives of our blog, officials at Nestoria™ pointed us to this blog post in which they intentionally try to gloss over the seriousness of the situation by claiming to not want their "brand of property search to become so well known that it eclipses all others."
In fact, we contacted another popular London based property blogger (who insists on remaining anonymous for fear of legal reprisal) who told us via email that he also received a "cease and desist" letter from Nestoria™ over the weekend and that he felt that Nestoria™ is attempting to "take food out of his mouth" and that he's "gotta eat"

But why is Nestoria™ doing this?

We can also reveal (inspite of legal reprisals) that the sinister plot to shut down our blog is being backed by none other than Joel Burslem of the highly influential and well respected Future of Real Estate Marketing blog. Burslem is behind development of "snake oil" technology, which he recently defined in a blog interview with Nestoria™:
"there’s a lot of snake oil being pushed in real estate technology, but it’s not all hype."

Burselem has also enlisted the services of extate.co.uk; whose co-founder told us by telephone that he was in the process of writing a "natural language snake oil search tool", which would be released soon and would eventually "conquer the entire blogsphere"

Sam Sethi is fighting back.

The influential and highly regarded blogger is said to be "pissed" at the situation which he described in a radio interview this morning as "preposterous". Sethi also used the occasion to announce his intention to lobby parliament in an attempt to "stop the rise in snake oil" and is organizing a hastily arranged march today in front of parliament to highlight the "growing seriousness of this snake oil business" Sethi also plans to lobby parliament to intervene with legislation to prevent companies like Nestoria™ taking further advantage of legal loopholes which permit them to implement what is now loosely termed "snake oil law".
"Today Nestoria™ tomorrow Google™, when these companies get a hold of snake oil, we dont know where it will stop" Sethi was quoted as saying.
The parliament march takes place this afternoon at 3:30, April 1st 2007 which also happens to be April fools day (:
